The team's focus is on continuing PG&E's progress to decarbonize the company's gas supply with renewable gas while aggressively pursuing gas throughput increases needed by our customers that utilize our system. These goals would not be possible without the concerted activities in developing and driving implementation of strategy and regulatory policies to enhance the foundation of our projects, processes, contracts, and agreements. As with any section of our business, there is a parallel path to enhance operational efficiency, continuous improvement, analysis, and benchmarking.Position SummaryThe Interconnection Contract Manager, Senior is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's contractual relationship for agreements and contracts within GSESP's Business Development & Implementation organization. This responsibility may include contract management for large customer load, new gas supply, and fossil and renewable receipt points for interconnection projects to the gas system. Additionally, the position will oversee gas agreements for inter-utility gas exchange, independent storage providers, and negotiated rates to support our relationships with customers and other utilities.Position will require approximately 5% of travel time in work schedule (mostly to field locations, sites and/or offices).This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.Incumbent should expect to travel through PG&E Service Territory for projects, meetings, trainings, etc.Position Duties (may include but are not limited to)

  • Manages multiple complex contracts
  • Reconciles contract performance against requirements and properly communicates deficiencies
  • Reviews and prepares contracts and agreements
  • Supports establishment of contract terms, mitigates risk, and reduces cost
  • Develops and maintains working relationships, contacts, and networks across multiple lines of business (LOB); achieves cooperation from others to achieve a goal
  • Acts as primary liaison between other LOBs, customers, and other utilities
  • Leads contracting projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Manages benchmarking internally and externally for analysis and continuous improvement
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders
  • Manages and leads contract program key initiatives
  • Leads and develops strategy for identifying new opportunities for streamlining and automation via new systems
  • Develops, consolidates, and improves upon contract compliance reporting
  • Exhibits professional writing skills in proposals, contracts, and agreementsPG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.A reasonable salary range is:Bay Area Minimum: $114,000Bay Area Maximum: $182,000This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.Job Responsibilities
    • Manages moderate to complex gas interconnections with PG&E's gas transmission system
    • Ensures all steps are followed for finalizing new interconnections including obtaining official applications, ensuring job cost estimates are produced and communicated to customer, completing standard form contracts, negotiating special facility agreements and/or any exceptional case agreements and arranging for approval at the CPUC, and monitoring progress in engineering, design, project management and construction to ensure facilities are completed by the time the customer needs service.
    • Manages all communications between the company and the customer regarding the interconnection
    • Supports regulatory activities by writing testimony or responding to data requests. May meet with regulators and other IOUs, and/or provide content for regulatory filings
    • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the project management function
    • Develops new approaches, processes and tools by modifying existing solutions
    • Presents findings and recommendations to function management
    • Communicates with peers and leaders inside and outside of the department exchanging ideas or gathering information
    • May provide direction and coaching to less experienced team membersQualificationsMinimum:
      • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience
      • 5 years of related experience in the natural gas industryDesired:
        • 1 year of experience in interconnections, new business or related
        • 5 years of related experience in the financial services industry
        • 1 year of experience of managing complex contract(s) and/or contract negotiations.
        • 2 years of experience in contract management
        • 2 years of experience in supply chain
        • Valid California driver's license
        • 2 years of customer service experience
        • 2 years of related experience in program management, project management, and/or product management, including process improvement work
        • Ability to gather, assimilate, and share information through the spoken word using language that is audience-specific and appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience
        • Ability to work and interact with diverse groups of people including both internal and external parties
        • Ability to devise and articulate solutions to complex problems
        • Field/Technical
          • Knowledge and understanding of gas transmission and distribution
          • Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, codes, and regulations that govern gas engineering and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities
          • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and properties of gas impacting various internal/external environments
          • Proficiency and skill with information systems and enterprise-level applications

            • PMP-Project Management Professional certification
            • PgMP-Program Management Professional certification
            • CCMP- Certified Change Management Professional certification
            • Ability to apply program management theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
